Import Cost Calculator — Frequently Asked Questions
The platform-specific inputs on this page are editable starting points. Adjust the marketplace fee, flat fee, and fulfillment fields to match your actual rates before relying on the results.
What is landed cost?
Landed cost is the total per-unit cost of bringing an imported product to your fulfillment location — supplier cost, freight, import duty, MPF, HMF, tariff overlays, and brokerage. Marketplace fees and outbound fulfillment are added separately in this calculator so you can see the full margin picture before placing an order.
How do I find my HTS code and duty rate?
Use the product lookup field at the top of the calculator for common categories, or search the USITC HTS database directly. Your HTS code determines both the base duty rate and which Section 301 tariff overlay applies if you're sourcing from China.
Does this replace a customs broker?
No. This is a pre-purchase margin planning tool. It estimates costs for evaluation purposes only and does not classify goods, issue customs rulings, or advise on compliance. For regulated products or first-time imports, work with a licensed customs broker.
